The first contential congress was organized to address the problems with the articles of confedercy. If you assume that this contential congress would not be taken over by the extreme groups you are sadly mistaken. They would be there to take over the proceedings and give us something far worse. I’m not sure what the right answer is to get us back on track but this idea scares me.
This Continental Congress is an exploratory group to come up with ideas about how to restrain our present government into its Constitutional bounds. If something is not done soon, our Republic will destroy itself. It is time for every Patriot to come forward, put our egos aside, and remember the greater good before it is too late. Knowledge is power. Read the Constitution. Study the principles the founders envisioned.
I’m with Randall on this. I understand “they” have already written a new Constitution for what would be called the NewStates [one word] of America. Among the items proposed therein are these 4:
1) Freedom of “expression” will still be permitted, but
2) Practice of religion will be a privileged activity
3) Ownership of firearms will be limited to military, law enforcement, and certain other licensed individuals
4) Trial by jury will be at the discretion of the judge!!!
And it’s not a “continental congress” they’re proposing–it’s a constitutional convention (or Con Con), as authorized in Article V to amend the present Constitution.
I am very surprised that Bob Schulz wouldn’t recognize the dangers of a Con Con! Ohio just realized the danger and has withdrawn its previous support of the idea, but we are still dangerously close to having the 2/3rds of the states call for a Con Con. It would, IMHO, mean the death knell of the great experiment in self-government that is the United States of America!!
Although any resulting “constitution” would have to be ratified by 3/4 of the states for it to take effect, the fact that “they” have managed to get 2/3rds of the states to call for a Con Con under the radar and out of view of the general population tells me they could get just about anything past our uninformed electorate more interested in who plays the Super Bowl or who’s on American Idol than they are in preserving our nation and way of life!

All I know is, something has to be done – and right soon. This seems like a viable option, and in my opinion is the best I have heard thus far. We all know there is a rotten fester upon Capitol Hill, but the question remains: What are we going to do about it? I for one would gladly become a part of this matter!

I too am real concerned that a Constitutional Congress OR Convention would be derailed by the NWO folks. Just look at the hype about Obama, these sheep who voted for him would fall into line with the other Washington crowd and that would be the end of the U.S. as we know it.
I propose a different tack…(I realize it’s not feasible under the current circumstances, but I can dream).
Texas should secede from the “union” and form it’s own country again. We could elect Ron Paul as President and start over. I wonder if anyone has done a serious study of the effects of a Texas secession from all points of view?

When he spoke of being summoned by Nicolas Rockefeller to New York so the Rock could meet him and on their last visit Rockefeller told him (this was in Sept. of 2000) to go home and worry about his family because a catastrophic event was going to take place in exactly 1 year in the Northeastern United States. Anyone rember the Trade Towers? Eliminate the Federal Reserve and the thieves who control it and eliminate the IRS and we will be fine.

I think we have to keep an understanding of what is “really” going on in mind. All the while we need to continue to vote with what matters to God in mind. Not all differences are petty. Having the big picture in mind does not free us from our responsibility to, for instance, end abortion by upholding the law.

We need to understand the difference between the CON CON (Constitutional Convention)of Article V and Continental Congress.
The Constitutional Convention is to make changes to the Constitution.
A Continental Congress is not to make any changes, but is a group of Delegates, from each state, to discuss ideas to force the government and elected officials to obey the existing Constitution and remedy Redress of Grievances.
It has nothing to do with a Convention.
It has everything to do with addressing and remedy of Redress of Grievances, as is the absolute right of “We the People”, in the 1st Amendment, for ‘Free Assembly’ and ‘Redress of Grievances’.
I would like very much to have a copy in either format.

I am all for restoring the Republic and restraining the Government within the bounds of our Constitution. The idea of a “Continental Congress” is interesting and intriguing. There is one main difference between now and the Continental Congresses in 1774-1776 and that is the repesentatives sent to those meeting were appointed by the various Legislatures of the Colonies. That fact gave these Congresses legitimacy. It is what forced the Central government (in Great Britain) to take notice (and action). As long as this is a “grass roots” type of thing – i.e. just people, it will be ignored. I hate to be a nay sayer but unless the State legislatures do this nothing will come of it. BTW – several states tried a simliar thing around 1860 and you know what happened then.
You better have your eye on the Constitutional Convention that is now close to becoming a reality. Virginia and one more state would put this into existance and that is where the real trouble will come in. It will be called to add a balanced budget amendment and the entire Constitution can be rewritten-probably already has been just in case they get this going.
Schulz compares the government of 1774, 5, and 6 to ours today – government “acting as though this is a democracy.” I think Mr. Schulz has it a little distorted, although I admire him greatly for what he is doing.
A Continental Congress is an excellent example of democracy in action, contrary to what Schulz seems to believe. Democracy is people power, and that is exactly what a Continental Congresses power comes from. Democracy is just the opposite of what we have been enduring for the past several decades – imperial power by a few elites!
We, the people, could assure our “people power” by enacting the National Initiative (www.ni4d.us) even better than a Continental Congress could. We must not let any minority elite control us any longer!
A Continental Congress is a great idea in theory and if it was done right could be the kind of event that serves as a rallypoint for the Patriot Movement. BUT IT HAS TO BE DONE RIGHT! If it turns out to be 20 people from 2 groups that nobody ever heard of sitting around for 2 days at a Days In conference room then releasing a grand statement on behalf of the American People that nobody reads or lambasts all accross the internet then this infact will be harmful. Yet, if this Continental Congress can present a unified front with representatives from as many groups as can be mustered (i.e. Ron Paul People, Libertarians, Constitution Party, Truthers, Greens etc. etc.) then its resulting call for a redress of grievences would carry some weight and have a legitamacy based on the broad spectrum of parties represented.
I’ve tried to Google “Constitutional Convention” but only get historical references to the original constitutional convention. Someone is doing an extremely good job of suppressing the “fact ?” that there is a clandestine attempt being made to assemble a new con-con. Which states have signed on? Where can we find a copy of the new constitution Susana K is talking about? Anything this momentous should be on the news. When will these communist bastard news agencies tell us what is going on?
No this is NOT a constitutional convention (con con). It is a continential congress. And I am absolutely positive about this. I will be at the akron meeting tomorrow.

Gosh, I bet the federal government gets right on the redressing of those grievances.
The question is, what we do after our legitimate grievances are ignored? The only way it’ll mean anything is for the grievances to be registered by a significant percentage of the agitated population. A few thousand people will be ignored.
Most people still don’t understand what’s happening, and most of them won’t have a clue until it’s already happened.
Bad News Good News – The economy is going down and then a significant number of people WILL be motivated to hear the message, understand it, and work to fix our country. Sometimes, addicts much reach rock bottom before they can start their recovery.
Our job is to keep putting out the information so people have a legitimate rallying point when they come on board in ever increasing numbers. We can’t lose them to the government that will be telling them that they need to give up our rights so the government can help them and make them safe.
GARY, Thanks for being so vigilant in spreading the truth. We need to shine a big bright white hot spotlight and all these matters (The Fed & IRS). These roaches need to be exposed for what they are. Traitors. I urge every Red Blooded American to do ALL they can to spread the real truth about what is happening in America and protect our Great Nation.
While Mr. Schultz’s call for a Continental Congress certainly has merit-and is NOT-as far as I can tell-a call for a Constitutional Convention, I believe that our most important task at the moment is putting the brakes on the under-the-radar call for just such a Convention. This would, as other postings have noted, be an unparalleled disaster-just imagine the current crop of statists and mediocrities in Congress coming up with a new Constitution! I’m glad to hear that Ohio has backed away from the precipice, but we have much to do to get other states to rescind their votes. This should demonstrate the immense power that the “mainstream” media has-not just by what they report, but by what they don’t! Until I was apprised of this by RTR and others, I had no idea that even my own state had voted on this.
The Continental Congress was conviened in 1774 in response to the British declaration of martial law in and around Boston Mass. in response to the Boston Tea Pary. This is the congress that ratified the Declaration of Independence in 1776. What Mr Schulz is calling for is a gthering similar to this historic gathering. IT IS NOT A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION! The historic constitutional convention was convened in the 1780’s and was the meeting in which are current constitution was written.
This is a great!! It is one of the only glimmers of hope that we have amidst the danger of a total loss of America as we know it.
Those who fear that these endeavors will be taken over by unfriendly political fire are looking at it in the wrong way. We can just look out the window and wait for America to be destroyed. Or we can do something about it.
We MUST continue to organize and engage. WE need to support several different endeavors, not just this one. There are more of us then them. Although we might lose a few battles and a few troops as in any war, we will win if we do not give up. Bravo Schultz!!!
I am so happy to see that WTP is being featured on RTR and that two great groups have merged and are working for the same cause…the Restoration of our Constitution for the betterment of our nation, as it was designed to do.

To those of you that are in fear….one must remember that “fear is the author of fear”. We cannot stay in that mindset. Had our forefathers have feared, we wouldn’t be here today.

I am going to help this process. We’d want an election in 2009, for a new union, a United Citizens of America, all claiming a right to budget government, our equal right to equal access to the lawmaking process.
Do look at the possible unconstitutionality of our constitution, that it may not have ever been sanctioned properly, ratified according to existing law, and that rights are a far cry from the privileges they would have us accept.
The articles of confederation, I hear, disallows lawyers who are beholden to the Bar to act as representatives.
Our big challenge is to elevate our self image of “we the people” and stop inflating the power of current ‘illegal and treasonist lawyers’. Think of them as BENEATH us. THINK OF THEM as physically lower than you, change the dynamics of public perception of power to restore it within.
To demonstrate our power what must we do, a tax strike ?
At anyrate we don’t necessarily need to OWN the debt that treasonist congressional corporate liaisons create ! And we should clearly begin a course in history that outlaws interest charges on any debt whatsoever.
From what I have learned a 1% tax on all transactions would cover all costs per county, for that county ( as opposed to state), and a 5% sales tax is ONLY to be used to allow farmers to tide over the hard seasons, and let their fields lay fallow every seventh season- before the top soil completely is gone.

Gary, I used to be a cameraman for an NBC affiliate in Hagerstown, Maryland and your colors are off… you all need to recalibrate (do a white balance) before every taping. Simple manual procedure but your camera has to be near or at professional grade to have this feature.

This is a Continental Congress, NOT a Constitutional Convention that only needs two more states to pass that would be held to destroy the existing Constitution and replace it with a new one…imagine that as one person here warns it is already drafted and will greatly limit or eliminate our rights as provided in the original U.S. Constitution.
I talked to Mr. Schultz personally at the meeting in my hometown, and he has spent 30 years actually legally serving members of Congress, the President (various ones) and their respective Attorney Generals with “grievances for redress” regarding laws/issues that have been passed or established via executive order that are UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Now that his organization has established a 30-year precedent for attempting to get the grievances addressed, he is willing to go to the next step since not ONE person has even attempted to answer the grievance petitions. The only action ever taken to date was when Rep. Ron Paul did submit some of the petitions into the record of the U.S. House of Representatives via the official secretary, but even Dr. Paul did not personally respond to the petitions.
Consequently, Mr. Schultz is organizing this event so that representatives of all states can develop a PEACEFUL plan of ACTION to take the next step considering Congress’s refusal to acknowledge the petitions. He is carefully following the Constitution and what is provided within it for determining the “next” steps to take in order to preserve the Republic and restore our rights as guaranteed by the Constitution.
I wholeheartedly support his efforts and hope that millions of Americans will educate themselves about what is really going on in our government, what has been DONE to make changes, and what CAN be done to peacefully restore the Republic! I believe that each state will properly vet the candidates to ensure that the best candidates possible will be selected as delegates! I hope this explanation clarifies the intent of We The People to organize and hold a Continental Congress in 2009.
We already have a Constitution, we just need elected politicians to uphold and follow the rights that we’ve had since 1787. Since the Supreme Court Justices don’t remember they were sworn to uphold and protect American citizens by following all the points of running this nation under the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
I don’t care how many states show up, and agree to anything, and informed citizen will mow them down.
WE may have to push the point about Obama not being eligible to have been sworn in to office, but it’s going to be an interesting next six months with that clown, that the closest he has come to serving our nation is to Vote “Present”. America can not wait for 4 more years of nothing, and that’s what he is. His big plan is to put citizens to work on the government payroll. That takes government income to do so, and if we are all out of work, or downsized, all he can do it print more money to pay the payroll. Our money is already near worthless, what’s a few Trillion more of Federal Reserve Notes.
I find it very interesting that the election is over, but I’m not, and my website is still pulling in 1200 to 1800 viewers each week. So the American citizens are still looking for a REAL President to lead our nation.
If I had been sworn in to office today, this nation would have something to really celebrate other than ethnicity.

Before you post you need to educate yourself about the difference between a Constitutional Convention and a Continential Congress (2009).
They are two entirely different things and you post is completly illinformed.
A Constitutional Convention (ConCon) is an assembly of elected officials (senators and congresspeople) for the sole purposes of altering or repealing the existing Constitution. There are no State Level ConCon’s, as State Constitutions may be amended in any session of the State legislature, so there is no need for a State level ConCon.
A Continental Congress (CC) is an active form of a “no confidence” vote in government. A CC is an alternative national legislative assembly to operate in place of an assembly which has ceased to fulfil its function so egregiously that it requires drastic action to prevent a military or corporate coup over the nation, or at least minimize the influence the illegitimate body has over the People and the States. It is a form of direct action, which embodies the ideals in the Declaration of Independence and Bill of Rights in a direct, physical form.
In other words, a ConCon has ONLY to do with the altering or repealing the Constitution, and is ONLY elected officials currently in power. A CC replaces that elected body altogether when the people realize that they are neither truly elected, nor are they truly representative. Either action could and probably will result in Civil War. The former will break the country apart into multiple nation-states, and several of the larger cities may become city-states, such as Atlanta, LA, Chicago, and NYC who will be warring with each other for years over ideology and territory. The latter could minimize the effects of that break-up, and reform unity in America by belittling the authority and actions of Washington in the eyes of the American people by giving them a viable alternative that is making legislative decisions that the people can participate in and understand.

The Second Continental Congress is needed to get our servant government in line. I’m proud to be working with The People of NYS to inform the people that the last straw has been drawn and how they may help to restore Constitutional Order, before it is too late. When our government refuses to answer petition after petition there are no choices left. They are no longer OUR servant government. WE are the servant of government. WAKE UP !!!

Also the super powerful lobby, the AIPAC, this lobby reaches far beyond the borders of the United States and virtually owns our Senators and Representatives. One call starts the ball rolling and spells the beginning of the end for anyone that opposes their agenda. Besides these two groups add the stranglehold that the Military Industrial Complex has on the USA and the LETHARGY of the citizens of this country and the future hardly looks promising. With all due respect, because I am also a Christian and am very concerned about the unborn and the Terry Shivos of this country. Having said that, I have come to understand that there has been no “pro-life” candidate for many years, only those that have pretended to be pro-life to get the vote of the gullible conservative Christian, many of whom have been fed a huge lie by the Untermeyer funded Scofield of the Scofield Reference “bible.” I am tired of my brothers and sisters being duped by “TV Evangelical Stars” who are “wolves in sheeps clothing”
